Championship news

The 2012 Championship will be restricting the number of drivers at the first two rounds of the Championship, at Evesham and Border Counties.
Those eligible to race at these rounds will be registered BAS drivers and host league members.

Due to an unprecedented demand for membership for the 2012 series, from the 1stFebruary  BAS membership will only remain open to accept registrations from drivers who were registered for the BAS 2011 series. 


The situation will be reviewed again at the end of the month. Any applications which have been received already will still be processed.


Semi finals will continue into 2012 and will now occur when the number of class entries reaches 56 as opposed to 64 in 2011.

The notional points calculator for abandoned meetings has now been dropped.

The jackpot round, where a competitors best score is doubled remains in place for 2012.

Other news

The number of cameras utilised for video evidence is expected to be increased to two for 2012. Both cameras will be operated by West Country Videos, one of which will use wireless transmission and relay footage to both a BAS elected official and a host league marshall.

Mark Joslin has stepped down from the board of directors after more than ten years of service and has been replaced by Mark Grice. Mark Joslin will continue in his role as technology adviser to the board.

BAS FM will be broadcast via the internet at all five rounds in 2012.
